Counselling & Psychotherapy

Counselling and Psychotherapy offers a safe and special opportunity to reflect on and express the difficulties in one’s life.
It can provide you with needed support and guidance.

Whether you experience:

·    Stress
·    Loss / Grief
·    Anxiety / Fear
·    Depression
·    Panic-Attacks
·    Pain (physical or emotional)
·    Relationship problems
·    Abuse
·    Psycho-somatic Symptoms
·    General lack of confidence or happiness, or
·    Other personal or Transpersonal issues

One of the most important needs of a client coming to Councelling or Psychotherapy is to find someone who can listen with genuine empathy and understanding.

Listening therefore is central to all successfull therapy.

It is the skill of the therapist to listen in depth to the feelings and the experience of the client, as well as their beliefs, their body’s story, their dreams and their soul’s longing.

Often there has been a time of stress or crisis in the clients life, preceeding their decision to go to therapy and to receive the support they need to work through this crisis.

At times of struggle or crisis, deeper changes are nessecary to achieve the goal of improvement of life’s circumstances or to progress towards greater health, well being or happiness.

Part of  going to Psychotherapy is wanting to develop the awareness ( or Self-Knowledge) of how we function in the world, in relationships, emotions or with conflicting needs within oneself.
Finding acceptance for the current difficulties often can be the first, but sometimes the  most difficult step to take. Even considering the possibility to reach out for professional support for oneself can be a tricky hurdle to overcome.

There is usually a lack of self-worth or confidence that contributes to the struggle one experiences at this time.

By making the first appointment, the  first step is done to go on the path of improvement.

I firmly believe that everyone has the right to receive the right kind of support with whatever their difficulty or burden is in life.

My approach  is based on the principles of Humanistic and  Integrative Psychotherapy, which say that every person has the inherent capacity to heal and reach one’s unique potential in life, to experience fulfilment, well-being and happiness.

Further, my work integrates approaches and techniques of ego-psychology, Object-relations theory, Gestalt, Psychosynthesis, Body-psychotherapy and Transpersonal Psychology.
